Daily update

Tuesay the port we visited wad Mykonos, Greece. This is according to Greek mythology is where Hercules slew the Giants. Also went to Delos which is one of the most significant archeological sites in the world. Yes, I copied that from the Cruise Compass daily paper.
Any way we went to Delos on a guided tour and took some more wonderfull pictures. Had a great time. 8 of the 10 people in our group went on this tour and more wonderful pics and more rocks and climbing and walking and more walking.
Once back to the port did some local shopping and more walking, more eating and more walking.
Wednesday we went to Katakolon, Greece. This is where the Olympia was held every four years. Once at the actual place where the runners took off Joe and I actually got in the running position and started to run. It was great you felt like you were at the olympics. We saw more ruins and more walking and more walking. Did I tell you about all the walking we did? Once back at the port we did some more shopping and refridgator magnet shopping. Tonights dinner was formal so we had to get out the best lest wrinkled clothes to wear to dinner tonight. Everyone looked great.
Thursday we went to Corfu, Greece. We went to the Achillion Palace, built by the Empress
Elizabeth of Austria in 1891, Lots of olive trees and wonderfull countryside pictures.
more walking and eating and more walking.
Friday we were in Split, Croatia. Also beautiful. Today we did not have an excursion booked we did what we wanted. So Carole and Ray and Lorraine and I took a bus tour and a walking tour.
We saw some beautful ocean side scenery. Howere it started to rain it only rains 65 day per year in split and today was one on them. We were on a bus that did not have windows and only a fabric roof. So we were cold and wet. Thankfully we had coats with us but only Lorraine and I had hood on our coats. after the bus tour there was a walking tour that we along with the bus
so we continued on with that tour and when we had had enough about 2:00pm we found some place to eat lunch and then explored on our own. After the refridigator magnet was found we let Lorraine and Ray sit and Carole and I went shopping. Carole found a ring she wanted and was going to have it sized. It would take about 40 min. I found a tee shirt for Gracie and Carole and I walked around til her ring was ready. Then we tried to find our way back to the ship By now it was about 3:45 pm and the last tender back to the boat was at 5:00 pm we had plenty of time.
so we decided to walk we could see the boat and all we needed to do was find the correct port.\
Well, we walked and walked and walked backj to where we stated from. Again we could see that ship out in the water and we could see the tender taking peolpe back to the ship but we could not find the correct port. We asked people on the street and they do not know anything we asked two cab drivers and they told us that it was just 200 meters to the right however as we were walking away Lorrraine said that the two cab driveres seemed to be arguing about which way we should have gone. Anyway they were wrong we walked 200 meters on dock, 300 meters no dock then 400 meters no dock. then we walked back. Now we asked the port authority and they tell us it is right here. They were no help it is now about 4:30pm and we are starting to panic. We go Back to taxi stand and Carole tells them that we will pay anything just someone take us to the correct dock. They are arguing again then a very tall taxi driver tell us tTo get in his cab and he will take us. He drives around still he can't find the dock. Then we find out that it is dock 25 he drives us around some more. Carole tell him he has to find the dock the last tender leaves at 5:00 pm We get out of cab and look around we tell him that it was in an industrial area and buses and cars can park there. He says get back in the cab he knows where to take us. then
he does not follow the street signs drive the wrong way down a one way street turns from the wrong lane and get us to the tender at.;.. wait for it.... 4:59p.m. /they are starting to take down the royal carribian sinage and all of the carpets. We ask driver how much and we think he says 60 euro we are willing to pay anything we gather up the what money everyone had and pay the man. He honks his horn and ray and i go back he says we pay him to much not 60 euro but 16euro. We take back 20 euro and tol him to keep the rest. Then we take his picture. We were never fo happy to be on that tender. When we got on we found out that they were sending one more tender but that all of the royal caribbean info stuff would be gone. We were just happy to be on the tender. We did have a wonderful story to tell at dinner that night.
We went back to the cabin and pack our bags and they need to be out side your cabin by 11:00 pm so Carole and Ray and I went to the casino to try our luck. I put in $10 in a penny machine and walked away with $55.00 I was happy.
On Saturday after getting off the boat I took another tour this time of Padua, Italy. It was wonderfull saw St Anthony's Bacilica it was breath taking there was a mass going on when we went inside. No pictures could be taken so I bought a book Ffrom there they took you to the airport and homeward bound I was.
All in All it was a wonderful vacation. I got a cold on Monday and fought off coughing fits and nose blowing as much as possible. Hopefully no one in the group will get sick because of me.
Would i do it again? Not on royal caribbean. Was not that inpressed with the ship, food was wonder and plentyful. But service not so hot..Was well worth the money for the memories.
I will close now and I am sorry for all the mispelling and punction errors but I think you will all get the jest of what i am tell you. Pictures to come. I think i took about 1000 of them.Chris got me home last night. But she may have had a long ride home. Traffic was backup going back to thornton on 90 so she may have had a very long ride. I will be talking to you all soon.
Love you, geri

Wow, sounds like you really packed a lot in to this trip Geri. I was worried you wouldn't make the final tender! Glad you did. Can't wait to see the pictures.
